The conference venue is the Ngurdoto Mountain Lodge, near Arusha, Tanzania, 27 km from the Kilimanjaro International Airport, 30 minutes ride with a bus shuttle or a taxi.

There are 2 main ways to arrive at the Conference: Most convenient is to fly to Kilimanjaro airport, directly, or with a connection in Nairobi, Addis-Abeba, or Dar-es-Salaam. An alternative is to fly to Nairobi, Kenya and to take a bus shuttle to Arusha, a 4 hrs ride.

Visa
Visas are required by almost all nationals. Usual is to obtain the visa at your country of departure. However, visas can be issued quickly and conveniently also at the international airports of entry to Tanzania (Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, etc) and at the border crossing from Kenya - please confirm this with the Tanzanian embassy at your country of departure.

Flying to the Kilimanjaro airport: PLEASE BOOK YOUR FLIGHT EARLY!

KLM operates direct flights between Amsterdam and Kilimanjaro.

Swiss, British Airways, Kenya Airlines, Emirates, Air India and others have flights to Nairobi and to Dar-es-Salaam, which are connected with Kilimanjaro airport by freuquent flights of various airlines such as Precission Air, Air Tanzania, Kenya Airlines.

Ethiopian Airlines runs many flights from Asia and Europe to Kilimanjaro through Addis-Abeba. This is a good option.

Johannesbourg is connected with Kilimanjaro. This option may be of interest for colleagues arriving from South America and from Oceania.

Bus shuttles from Nairobi:
Many companies operate bus shuttles between Nairobi Airport and Arusha. Price ≈ 25 - 35 USD per person. Duration ≈ 4 hrs.
